Library Hiring Student Workers (FWS)

The Library is now hiring Federal Work Study (FWS) eligible student workers.

Details:
Part time, $10 per hour, 14-15 hours per week through August, 2009 with possibility for extension.

Primary Purpose of the Job:
To assist library staff with a variety of duties related to running the design library and providing service to its patrons, including answering basic reference questions, checking books out to library patrons, daily newspaper and periodicals check-in, shelf-reading, processing new books, clerical tasks, updating library bibliographies, organizing new catalogs, maintaining pamphlet files, photocopying, basic trouble-shooting of library computers, printers, and photocopiers, and filing.

Essential Requirements:
– Must meet the professional conduct expectations of a regular employee in the department. (e.g. be on time, take scheduled/authorized breaks).
– Assigned tasks must be completed with quality, in a timely fashion, as outlined by the supervisor.
– Performance will be evaluated to determine effectiveness in this position. At any time, employment status can be altered or terminated should performance standards fall below expectations.
– Student cannot work during scheduled class times

Federal Work Study students must adhere to all rules and regulations required by the Federal Work Study Program.
