Participants should come in knowing how to navigate and manage files on a PC

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the principles of 3D computer modeling
  • Navigate a 3D model in SketchUp
  • Rotate objects and manage multiple views of a model
  • Introduction to components and attributes
  • Using plug-ins

Gensler’s Brinkmann Scholarship for Interior Design Students

Harrington College of Design has been invited by Gensler to nominate students for the Brinkmann scholarship. Two Harrington students will be selected by a committee of the interior design faculty to compete for this scholarship. To be eligible, you must be entering the final year of the BFA program in interior design in the fall of 2010 (and have earned 80 or more credits by September 1, 2009), have a 3.0 (or higher) cgpa, and plan to still be in school Spring Semester 2010. If you are interested in competing, you should submit the following by 5 pm Thursday, October 22, 2009:

  1. PowerPoint presentation of an “advanced level commercial interior design project” demonstrating your design and presentation ability.
  2. Written description of 500 words or 10 page maximum.
  3. Statement of commitment: In100 words or less, declare your intention to work with Harrington’s committee to revise and submit your project to Gensler by the due date.

Harrington participants will be selected and notified by October 26, 2009. Following nomination by Harrington, the two selected students will have until November 15, 2009 to submit their entries to Gensler.

The October 22 submittal to Harrington should be submitted via email or on a transferrable CD or jump drive to Crandon Gustafson, Center for Professional Development, Room 411; cgustafson@harringtoncollege.com. Email submittals should carry the subject line “Brinkmann 2010 Submittal.”
