Please note that Friday night, June 12 through Sunday night, June 14, Voyager, our library system, will be undergoing a major upgrade. The online catalog for the Harrington and I-Share libraries will not be available and will display a message that says “The catalog will be unavailable until approximately 8AM on Monday, June 15, 2015, while we upgrade I-Share system software.”
Books may not be checked over the weekend, but usual service will resume on Monday morning, June 15!
As a way of disposing of all the useable “stuff” in our offices we will no longer need at the end of the summer, Harrington faculty and staff are planning a Harrington Office Clearance Bizarre Bazaar, Tuesday, June 2 – Friday, June 5, Room 230. We plan to gather together all those art supplies, review copies of books, office accessories, and anything which might have continued usefulness.
This room will be open for faculty, staff and students to view and take away those things they can use. Thanks!
There are two opportunities currently to see Chicago through the eyes of photographer Vivian Maier.
“Vivian Maier was born in New York City in 1926, but spent much of her life travelling to places like Egypt, Bangkok, Italy, and the American Southwest with camera in tow. In 1956 she settled in Chicago, where she remained until her death in 2009. She spent her adult life as a nanny to a series of North Shore families, and devoted her free time and money to her passion, photography.” http://chicagohistory.org/planavisit/exhibitions/vivian-maiers-chicago
